Tom has served as a full time Lutheran church worker since 1977. He was the Junior coach at Ebenezer-St. Louis in 1979. Tom was a Lutheran high school basketball coach in St. Louis and Houston from 1980-89 and served as the athletic director at Lutheran High North-Houston, Texas from 1986-89. He coached the State of Texas 3-A high school runner-up basketball team in 1988 and Lutheran State Tournament Grade School Boy’s Runner-up in 1998. Tom has also been a basketball official at the college, high school and pro-am level. Tom teaches and coaches at Immanuel Lutheran School in Giddings, Texas. Tom has been a member of the LBAA Board of Directors since 1991.
Past president of Calvary Lutheran Church, East Meadow, New York, and coach of the Junior basketball team from 1973-84. He was the Vice President of Long Island Lutheran Basketball Association from 1978-84. Charlie was a mathematics teacher at East Meadow High School from 1964-1998. During a coaching stint at Calvary, he took his Junior basketball team to several National Luther Tournaments. Charlie retired from East Meadow High School in 1998 and is now living and playing golf in North Carolina. He became an LBAA director in 1987.
Jim joined the LBAA Board of Directors in 1987. He was a co-coach of the 197 Peace-Emmaus-St. Louis, Missouri Junior basketball team that participated in the Tournament of Champions. He was the president of the Lutheran Athletic Council of Greater St. Louis from 1977-1992. He was instrumental in the development of the Missouri State Tournament and continues to keep the LBAA on sound financial footing. Jim is the treasurer of Emmaus Lutheran Church in St. Louis and is a retired System Protection Engineer having worked for forty years with the electric utility company in the St. Louis Missouri area.
Rob has been involved with the Tournament of Champions since the move of the Tournament to Valparaiso University in 1971 as the head of officials and trainers. He is currently the head trainer at Valparaiso University working and traveling with various sports teams. He is an active official in various sports. Rod joined the LBAA Board of Directors in 1997.
Carlene has been involved with Lutheran basketball her entire life. She was recently inducted into the Concordia University, Seward, Hall of Fame and played in the first Houston Women’s Basketball League. Carlene is the current Lady Lions basketball coach at Lutheran High North, Houston, Texas where she has taught since 1993. She has had the privilege of watching her two daughters play in this tournament while she and her husband (Ted) have helped as volunteers. Carlene has been an LBAA director since 2000.
Scott is originally from Richville, MI and a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville (Saginaw, MI area). He has resided in Valparaiso for over five years and is currently the Assistant Director of Admission for Valparaiso University, working specifically with the university's coaches and full scholarship athletes, as well as coordinating Lutheran student recruitment. He has been involved with the LBAA National Tournament since 2003, coordinating the admission office's tournament participation, and was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2007.
